Are you struggling to lose weight? Does it seem like no matter what you try you can't lose weight? Sometimes the simplest steps can help start you on the path to losing weight. Small actions steps that you can start Today! Simple steps are easier to implement and can help you be more consistent. Consistency and action steps can help create habits for success.
Tip #1
Ditch the Scale.
Quit relying on the scale as the only indicator of your success. The number on the scale will vary from day to day. If you become so fixated on getting to a certain number, you may lose focus on other changes. There are other ways to know if you are losing weight. Clothes are fitting better, feeling stronger in the gym, and having more energy are all good biofeedback to know if you are making changes. When the scale becomes a stressor, or obsession, it is time to ditch the scale.
Tip #2
Drink more Water.
Ditch the sugary drinks, the loaded coffees, energy drinks. Start drinking more water. It is a simple action step that can help in so many ways. Aim to drink 100 oz. of water a day. Drinking your calories with sugary drinks or loaded coffees adds up quick and sometimes you don't even realize how many extra calories. Stick to Water.
Tip #3
Eat More Vegetables.
Eat more vegetables with every meal. Vegetables provide many micronutrients and vitamins to fuel your body. Plus, they help you stay full longer. Aim to add 1 cup of vegetables with each meal.
Tip #4
Get Up and Move
Try to add at least 30 minutes of movement daily. Walk, jog or whatever you like to do. Just get up and get moving each and every day.
Tip #5
Eat More Protein
Protein helps with performance, satiety, muscle growth and recovery. Aim to eat at least a Palm size portion of lean protein with each meal.
