You probably here about Macros all the time. Macros consist of Protein, Carbs, and Fats. When you start a cut of deficit, the primary focus is to make sure you are getting the correct Macros to reach your goals.
But in order to create maximum results, you may be skipping one of the important steps to overall success. Micronutrients!!
In order to maximum results, our body needs to be firing on all cylinders! Just like your car. Think of it this way, in order for a car to perform or get where it is going, it has to have gas. A full tank of gas helps a car operate and move. But micros are the oil in the car, they help the car run more efficiently and eventually if you run out of oil, the car will quit. The same way with micronutrients. If you are missing the proper vitamins and minerals, your body eventually will quit.
Vitamins and Minerals, or micronutrients fill in the gaps in your daily intake of nutrition. They help indirectly with energy production, metabolism, digestion, gut health, bone health, immune system, cognitive function, and the list goes on. Micros helps you utilize and absorb the foods you eat.
Plus, if you are in a calorie deficit, you are eating less foods. SO, you are getting less food variety, and less micronutrients. This can lead to decreased energy and an indirect role in overall performance.
So, how do you know if you are deficient in vitamins and minerals?
The recommended daily dose is 5-7 wide variety of vegetables and fruits. This means different, or variety of vegetables and fruits. If you are eating 5 servings of green beans per day, you are not getting the recommended daily dose.
Supplements can help fill in the gaps or missing links in your daily nutrition. I always recommend getting your nutrition from whole food sources, but if you are unable to eat 5-7 varieties of vegetables and fruits a day, supplements are a good choice.
These are the supplements I have been using to help fill in my gaps in nutrition.
Opti-Greens 50 & Multi-Fiber.
Currently I have been using Opti-Greens 50 & Multi-Fiber every day. Multi-Fiber is a NEW product from 1st Phorm and comes flavored or unflavored. This is good if you fall short on daily Fiber intake. On a daily basis, you should have at least 20g of Fiber.
Opti-Greens 50 helps give you energy, helps with gut health, improves digestion and bloating, and helps you fill those gaps in your daily vegetable intake.
