How to Stick to Your Gym Routine


Motivation is usually what gets us started, but then it happens, you give in to the excuses and your normal gym routine gets put to the side. It happens to all of us.


The alarm goes off, and you hit snooze, and sleep right through your workout, then go to work, pick up the kids, cook supper, and then the workout doesn't happen. The day gets away from you before you know it.

So how can you stick to your gym routine?




Here are a few tips to help you stick to a plan.


1. Join a group class. Most gyms offer all kinds of class workouts. Plus they usually offer at all different times of the day so you have options to choose from.

2. Find an accountability partner. Find a friend who will help keep you accountable. Text each other to keep each one accountable to show up.

3. Hire a coach. Hire a coach to help you with your workouts. If you spend money on something, you are more likely to show up and invest the time.

4. Schedule your gym time. Prioritize your workout in to your day. Schedule it in the day just like you would the kid's basketball game, or a meeting at work.

5. Keep a gym bag and shoes in your car. If you get time at lunch, then you already have your gear ready to go and you won't talk yourself out of it. Or if you get off work early, you can hit the gym before you go home.


It can be really hard to stick to a workout routine. It's more about forming a habit, and sticking to that habit. The hardest part is usually just getting to the gym. Now, once you get to they gym you just exercise. It's all about creating consistency and habits to help you stay on track. These are just a few tips to help you form new habits, keep consistent, and stay accountable to yourself.
