REDEFINE WHAT IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU!!

Strategies for a No Quit Mentality

Have you ever started a challenge and then after a couple of weeks you give up? You don’t finish the challenge or program. I know… I have done this before numerous times, and then the cycle of starting again begins again. You start out all “motivated” to make changes, and somewhere along the way you just quit.

Listen, I have been there too. Just spinning my wheels trying to figure out why I can’t stick to a challenge or workout or program. I have learned some strategies to overcome that mentality and to finish what I started.

Here are some strategies to help you overcome and to finally finish what you started.

1. Why did you start? I think the first step is to determine why you started. To define your “why” for making a lifestyle change. Why do you want to be healthier? Why do you want to start working out? Identify your “why” and recognize when to use it.

2. Have a Goal. I think setting a goal is an easy way to stay on track. It can be any type of goal. It just needs to me a specific goal. A goal that moves you forward, is measurable, and attainable.

3. What do you really believe about health and fitness? I think sometimes we have an unrealistic vision of what health and fitness really is. What are your core values about health and fitness? What does healthy mean to you?

4. What are your daily non-negotiables? There are certain things that you have to do every day in order to succeed. What are yours? Write them down and no matter what these should be done every single day.

5. Get your mind right. It is not about motivation. It is not about how you feel. It’s about creating daily consistent habits to stay disciplined.

6. Is this a reason or an excuse? Sometimes there is an actual reason you can’t workout. You broke your foot, or you have a fever, but most of the time we use our “busyness” as excuses. Stop using excuses to reason with yourself. An excuse is an excuse.

7. Own it. It is your journey. You control the fate of your journey. Not the food, not the trainer, and not your busy schedule.

When that desire fades and you think about giving up … that’s exactly when you use these strategies to Keep Going. To overcome the obstacles you’re facing and put in the work. Finish what you started. Create a "No Quit Mentality" with these strategies.

Create daily, consistent habits to stay disciplined and finish strong.
