Summer is here and for most people that means trying to hurry and lose fat or weight to fit into swimsuits, shorts, and summer tanks.

However, a lot of people go about their approach the wrong way and make mistakes in trying to achieve their "Summer Body."
Try and Avoid These Common Fat Loss Mistakes:
Undereating. This is very common mistake. Not eating enough food to fuel your body properly, which leaves you tired, no energy and unable to maximize performance.
Restricting Foods. If there are certain foods that you enjoy, moderation is a better choice. When you completely restrict all foods you enjoy, this can lead to a binge or session of overeating. Instead, try to eat in moderation and work those foods in to your daily calorie intake. Or try and fit into your macro targets.
Not Tracking Your Food. How do you know if you are overeating or undereating if you are not tracking your food. Even if you don't use an app, you can still track food in a journal.
Doing Too Much HIIT Cardio. Cardio training is good for endurance and overall health. But sometimes especially during summer, people think they can do HIIT cardio every day to speed up the process of losing weight. HIIT cardio is meant to be all out exertion and takes time to recover. It is not meant to be used everyday. Cardio should be switched up between steady state, HIIT, and low intensity to help your body recover better.
Not Lifting Heavy Lift the weights. Stronger people are leaner people. Strength training builds muscle and it also helps burn fat. More lean muscle helps burn calories throughout the day.
Overestimating Calorie Burn. Watches, apps, and machines all tell you how many calories you are burning during workouts and throughout the day. These are all not completely accurate and precise. Stop focusing on what it tells you that your burned, and focus on the intensity of your workouts.
Underestimating Calorie Intake. The same applies to nutrition servings and trackers. They are not 100% accurate. Plus, usually most people underestimate the portion sizes of the food they are eating which adds up quickly to more calories.
Not Tracking Progress. Track your progress through weighing yourself, taking pictures, how your clothes fit, how you are sleeping and how you feel. Be sure and track progress to know if you are actually making improvements.
