The One Thing

I was just sitting here staring at my computer today and thinking about the fancy picture to post, and some inspirational message to get you motivated. But as I sat here, I realized some days it's not about some fancy post or elaborate message, it's about doing the the one thing.


What do I mean?


I mean instead of over analyzing and basically procrastinating until I find the "perfect" message or post... I should just do it.


I should just tell you that the simple basics are the most effective and the most boring. I should tell you that consistency is much more important than being perfect. I should tell you to stop overthinking and looking for the next big thing... and just do the one thing.


Just do the thing that you keep putting off by looking for some fancy solution to your problem. The one thing could be drink more water. Ok, so start today. Go grab a glass and take a drink right now. Do the one thing.


Just do the thing... could be getting up and going for a walk. Go grab your shoes and take a walk.

Just do the thing... could be getting more sleep. Go to bed earlier tonight.

Just do the thing... could be skipping the diet soda, and coffee today. Start swapping for water.


There is one thing that you could do right now that would get you closer to your goals. Just think if you start today, and change one thing you have already taken the step to improve and make progress. I think we get so wrapped up sometimes in some new, or fancy, shiny solution and forget... if I just did one thing I would already be started.


Just do the thing.


I am going to focus this week on not just trying... but doing it. How about you?
