"Life is a series of seasons, and what works in one season may not work in the next.
What season are you in right now? What habits does that season require?"
Are you struggling right now?
Are you trying to do so much that you aren't even really sure what you should be doing?
Are you overwhelmed with work?
Are you overwhelmed with kids?
Are you overwhelmed with taking care of elderly parents?
Maybe all of these apply to you.
When you are feeling overwhelmed with errands, busy work, and stress, the only reliable way to make sure you can create the most amount of productive time is to evaluate what season you are in. This is a time to reevaluate how you are spending your time and prioritize the tasks that are relevant to your current situation.
This is the time you prioritize the tasks that have to be done and what tasks are not relevant in this season.
It is time to prioritize the tasks that have potential to make the biggest difference.
One way to put this into perspective, is to think of your time as a jar. You can fill this jar with different size of rocks.
Big Rocks=Most Necessary
Medium Rocks=Fun, Hobbies
Tiny Rocks= Bonus activities (things that are purely bonus or fun)
If you fill your jar with too much, all the tiny rocks first, then medium rocks next, there will be no room for the Big Rocks.
So, define your season.
1. Take time to make a list.
a. List all the Big Rocks for this season (essential, required activities like work, health, family)
b. List all the Medium Rocks (hobbies, or fun activities)
c. List all the Tiny Rocks (bonus activities like social, vacations, etc)
2. Fill your Jar with Big Rocks first
3. Add a few Medium Rocks
4. Add 1-2 Tiny Rocks
As your seasons change, you can adjust your time, and adjust how your fill your jar, but remember your habits should align with your current season. Make sure you are focusing on the priorities and control the tasks that you can do to create the biggest impact.
